Sometimes, quite out of the blue, we can experience thoughts of repentance, of growing spiritually, and of bettering ourselves. Far from random, the Talmud relates that such thoughts are the soul’s response to a call which issues daily from Heaven. Likewise, a chosid who may unexpectedly bring his Rebbe to mind or sense an especially strong bond, should be aware that this awakening could well be the result of his Rebbe thinking about him. These thoughts and feelings, however, are only a means to an end. They must still be channeled into action. |
