The Laws Governing Breaking Bread
It is imperative to purchase bread that is certified kosher.
We create a direct connection between recognizing the true source of the bread and enjoying it.
In the morning, we alternate. But for bread, we wash each hand three times consecutively. Why the difference?
Bread made from the five species of grains identified by our sages (wheat, barley, rye, spelt or oat) require the blessing "Hamotzi". Wash hands ritually before eating bread and recite the blessing.
