Limonana is a Israeli summer classic. It needs to be served immediately to maintain its refreshing iciness.
For an adult version, add a splash of vodka.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup fresh lemon juice
- ½ cup packed fresh mint leaves
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 cups ice cubes
Directions
- Pour the sugar and water into a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from stove and refrigerate until fully cooled.
- Place mint leaves, lemon juice, salt, and sugar syrup into a high-powered blender (or food processor) and blend. Add ice and pulse until thick and slushy.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Note: You can adjust the proportions of lemon/mint/sugar to your liking. There’s no “wrong” with this recipe.
