Full disclosure—this one is not for the kids! But it IS for us adults. And oh boy, do these slushies taste good after a long day of work.

Like a nice glass of fruity sangria? This is basically reformatted sangria—cold, fruity and refreshing, with an alcoholic kick. Pass the glass, will ya?
Having friends over in the evening? This is an easy way to impress. Sunday afternoon barbeque? Bring these out and you’ll be the star of the show.

I made two flavors, but the possibilities are endless. If you’re feeling adventurous, play around and see what you come up with. It’s pretty hard to go wrong!
Once you have all the ingredients, they take only minutes to whip up. Make sure you use a good blender, though, or you’ll have some nasty chunks and bits and pieces floating around.

The mango sangria slushy needs frozen mango, oranges, frozen white nectarines, white wine, ice cubes and sugar.
Blend all the ingredients except for the ice cubes, until smooth. Check the taste and consistency. Want it a bit thicker and slushier? Add some ice cubes and blend some more.

For the blackberry sangria slushy, you’ll need frozen blackberries, frozen white nectarines, white wine, a touch of sugar, juice of a fresh lemon and possibly some frozen strawberries and some ice cubes—that part is up to you.

Again, blend all the ingredients except the ice cubes until smooth. Then add the ice cubes, a couple at a time, until you reach your preferred consistency.
The great thing about this recipe is that you can serve it immediately, or you can stick in the freezer for an hour or two. It’s equally delicious both ways.
