HE calls people in his shul to ask to meet with them with no phone for two hours just to listen to their stories. 😭😭😭 This.

The thing about shir hashirim. The story doesn’t end there. He has to go after her. The pursuit is his. She’s not going to be doing what she did before, old games of hide and seek through fields and towns and corridors and doorways. He’s very late. Indeed, the fruit has become too ripe on the tree as the gazelle wondered still believing he’d be chased thousands of years later. If he’s going to come, he needs to show up all the way in a pursuit that will make up for quite a bit doing much more than he ever planned. Or he needs to leave her be if he doesn’t care so she can walk away all the way. Reply

Everybody, married or not, Jewish or not yet, should listen to this podcast:-) Unfortunately, Orthodox Judaism doesn't always give hope or perspective, just: You have to be 'bitul', be nothing and outnumber yourself, because that's avodat Hashem. But this rabbi shows us reality according to Torah. Feelings, which are also created by Hashem, should not be neglected, as wel as no-goes when doing our self-assessment. I will send this podcast to my bachelor friends and for myself? I am married, Jewish, but I will propose to my wife to date her again:-) As it it is written in Song of Songs: Show me your appearance and let me hear your voice. The basis of each marriage. I am only busy with my own concerns and making a living, whithout living. PS. I am weeping after listening to this podcast. Reply

Cain's wandering as a fulfillment of intention. Where murdering his brother was a means to wander. That this wandering state was intention and goal, yet the Rabbis finished this comment by saying Cain was unwell even in his presumably desired wandering. Still unwell even in his wandering unboundedness. Obviously he was disturbed in his soul when he killed his brother. This is clearly understood. What's not so clear and compelling is Cain's wandering as being a fulfillment of some great inner goal, yet still a troubled wandering. He still does not have peace but he's unleashed. Reply
