Studying human communication from a “scientific” perspective can be very dull and superficial; not so meditating upon the spiritual means by which souls can touch and influence each other! How does one flesh communicate with another, separate flesh, in and of themselves? First, we need to realize that they cannot and do not! There are many types of intimacy that humans can experience, none of which is more important and profound than that between souls! Reply

Unbelievable. Unbelievable. I went to high school with Libby. She was the most beautiful dancer in our Jewish high school productions! And her mother was the most incredible advocate for her imaginable! At a time when disability was not celebrated, to put it mildly. But Libby was celebrated! Very popular, talented, incredible girl. I remember the hype when she got into the top seminary in Israel. She danced so beautifully by feeling the beats of the music. When she speaks, I see her mother's strength in her. What a remarkable, remarkable woman. Very inspiring interview. Wow. Reply

I was a Marine in 89 who had recently become a single parent of two. The court said I had to remain in the state for 1 year before everything was finalized. The Corps refused to allow me to extend for 1yr, so I had to reenlist for 4. I suffered from serious hearing loss and was on remedial hearing for over a year. The Chief Petty Officer(CPO) who gave me the hearing exam during my physical exam got upset with me for pressing the button constantly instead of waiting for the tone. So he made me retest and I did the same thing. As I came out of the booth, he was angry, but I just smiled. After he pause to think a bit, he said "OK Sargent, I'll let you reenlist, but your the first person I've ever met who went from remedial hearing to supersonic hearing." I said thanks Chief. I went to my new command and my hearing was restored to normal. The power of the spoken word of a blessing. Our God is an awesome God. Reply

I am close to 70 years old and now have hearing problems too. Not so much in my hearing, but more in my ability to understand what is being said—kinda like a special form of aphasia. I usually, but not always, do not understand what is being said in your videos, and so I just must go by the synopsis and comments to guess what is being conveyed. Turning up the volume does not help that much. I can understand written text just fine, so it does not seem to be memory decline, like dementia. Most people would find it very frustrating, but I just shrug my shoulders, saying, “Oh well!” My guess is that Rebbetzin Libbi Kakon has had a similar attitude and frame of mind that has allowed her to thrive! My good thoughts and prayers are with her! Reply

I'm a bit younger than you, but I deal with the inability to focus and understand what people are saying no matter how hard I try or how hard I turn up the volume. Been single since 1988, but recently as I spoke to a young lady about what I'd been going through during the last 11 years, her eyes lit up as she exclaimed, 'Your Job." People know I said 6 years ago I'll know I'm completely healed when God lets me go back to work. They were shocked that at my age I intend to go back to work one day. I'm not, I know our God is an awesome God who can do anything. All things are possible with God. Until then, He still has things to teach me. Reply

God has a reason for what we go through. In the case of Rebbetzin, her hearing impairment was used to motivate her to accomplish great things for those who are hearing impaired. A Rabbi lost his family in the holocaust. After he came to Israel, God began sending orphan girls to him and eventually he began the Lev LaLev orphanage, he had a new family. The USMC took me to Haifa in 87. I spent my days on a volunteer crew cleaning up an old school house & yard to be used by orphans. In 2013 I became bed ridden and He reminded me of that and laid it on my heart I could send them finances. Spent 3 years trying to locate it, not knowing the name. Then I found Lev LaLev and turns out, it was the orphanage that used the school. I had no income, but began giving of my small savings. Now I have enough income to live on and I can take care of myself again and they are my new family. God has a plan for your life also, so never give up, just put your life in His hands. Reply
