I have read and heard commentary that Dinah's going out was actually a good thing. She was going out to connect (teach them about Judaism) with the daughters of Shechem . Reply

violation of dinah I must say that Rabbi Gordon's commentary reading and studying regarding the violation of Dinah was quite thought provoking and informational more than any other explanation I have ever heard. I say this as a non-Jew going to church and not being satisfied of any explanation regarding the violation and the consequences thereof. Since I have been studying Judaism, I marvel and enjoy greatly the teachings of Rabbi Gordon and I thank all those involved in making these lessons available via the internet. I truly hope one day I can attend one of the classes in person. Reply
