boundaries I think that what you describe is a wonderful ideal of parenthood and I agree with you but I think there is one thing worse than no boundaries and that is inconsistency. If a child has no boundaries they will seek them from outside the family - they may be lucky or they may flounder dreadfully but for the child who is confused because one minute there is tollerance and the next there is judgement and punishment, there can only be pain and mental disturbance. Parents should be wary of this. Reply
