| 1Come, let us sing praises to the Lord; let us shout to the rock of our salvation. |

אלְכוּ נְרַֽנְּנָ֣ה לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה נָ֜רִ֗יעָה לְצ֣וּר יִשְׁעֵֽנוּ: |
| 2Let us greet His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout to Him with songs. |
|
בנְקַדְּמָ֣ה פָנָ֣יו בְּתוֹדָ֑ה בִּ֜זְמִר֗וֹת נָרִיעַֽ לֽוֹ: |
| 3For the Lord is a great God and a great King over all divine powers. |
|
גכִּ֚י אֵ֣ל גָּד֣וֹל יְהֹוָ֑ה וּמֶ֥לֶךְ גָּ֜ד֗וֹל עַל־כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים: |
| 4In Whose hand are the depths of the earth, and the heights of the mountains are His. |
|
דאֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ֖יָדוֹ מֶחְקְרֵי־אָ֑רֶץ וְתֽוֹעֲפ֖וֹת הָרִ֣ים לֽוֹ: |
| and the heights. An expression of height, like a bird that flies [up high]. |
|
ותועפות.
לשון גובה כעוף המעופף:
|
| 5For the sea is His, He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. |
|
האֲשֶׁר־ל֣וֹ הַ֖יָּם וְה֣וּא עָשָׂ֑הוּ וְ֜יַבֶּ֗שֶׁת יָדָֽיו יָצָֽרוּ: |
| 6Come, let us prostrate ourselves and bow; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. |
|
ובֹּאוּ נִשְׁתַּֽחֲוֶ֣ה וְנִכְרָ֑עָה נִ֜בְרְכָ֗ה לִֽפְנֵי־יְהֹוָ֥ה עֹשֵֽׂנוּ: |
| let us kneel. Heb. נברכה, an expression of (Gen. 24:11): “He made the camels kneel (ויברך).” |

| 7For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the flocks of His hand, today, if you hearken to His voice. |
|
זכִּ֘י ה֚וּא אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וַֽאֲנַ֚חְנוּ עַ֣ם מַ֖רְעִיתוֹ וְצֹ֣אן יָד֑וֹ הַ֜יּ֗וֹם אִם־בְּקֹל֥וֹ תִשְׁמָֽעוּ: |
| today. In this world. |
|
היום.
בעולם הזה אם בקולו תשמעו:
|
| 8Do not harden your heart as [in] Meribah, as [on] the day of Massah in the desert. |
|
חאַל־תַּקְשׁ֣וּ לְ֖בַבְכֶם כִּמְרִיבָ֑ה כְּי֥וֹם מַ֜סָּ֗ה בַּמִּדְבָּֽר: |
| 9When your ancestors tested Me; they tried Me, even though they had seen My work. |
|
טאֲשֶׁ֣ר נִ֖סּוּנִי אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם בְּ֜חָנ֗וּנִי גַּם־רָא֥וּ פָֽעֳלִֽי: |
| tested Me. for nothing. |
|
בחנוני.
חנם:

| even though they had seen My work. in Egypt. |
|
גם ראו פעלי.
במצרים:

| 10Forty years I quarreled with a generation, and I said, "They are a people of erring hearts and they did not know My ways." |
|
יאַרְבָּעִ֚ים שָׁנָ֨ה | אָ֘ק֚וּט בְּד֗וֹר וָֽאֹמַ֗ר עַ֚ם תֹּעֵ֣י לֵבָ֣ב הֵ֑ם וְ֜הֵ֗ם לֹא־יָֽדְע֥וּ דְרָכָֽי: |
| Forty years. I quarreled with them and contended with them. [אקוט is] an expression of (Job 10:1): “My soul quarrels (נקטה) with my life.” I strove with them for forty years to kill them in the desert, because I said, “They are of erring heart.” |
|
ארבעים שנה.
קטתי בהם, רבתי עמהם לשון נקטה נפשי בחיי (איוב י׳:א׳) נלחמתי בם ארבעים שנה להמיתם במדבר כי אמרתי תועי לבב הם:

| 11For which reason I swore in My wrath, that they would not enter My resting place. |
|
יאאֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּי בְאַפִּ֑י אִם־יְ֜בֹא֗וּן אֶל־מְנֽוּחָתִֽי: |
| My resting place. [In] to the land of Israel and Jerusalem, which I called “resting place,” as it says (below 132:14): “This is my resting place forever.” |

אל מנוחתי.
לארץ ישראל ולירושלים אשר קראתים מנוחה שנאמר (לקמן קלב) זאת מנוחתי עדי עד:
