One minute of quiet thought a day can change a child’s life.

When we send our children to school, we send not only their brains, but their bodies, their hearts, and their souls.

Just as we teach their brains to solve math, to read and to write, so we must teach the child to feed that heart and soul, to take a moment each day to ponder, “What is going on in my life? What is important to me? What do I really want in life?”

We must teach a child that as crucial as it is to be literate, it is even more crucial to sit quietly at the beginning of each day and ask yourself those questions.
