Will the World End in 2012?

The Inevitable! Right, that’s why I said “our world” meaning America, Israel and the surrounding, maybe not the whole planet…depending on the extent of a nuclear bomb, I suppose Iran too, if we retaliate on time. No matter the casualties it will be the end of us all.
I do not believe that we should live as if the end is near or coming. On the opposite, live as if it will be forever and enjoy life as much as you can as it is. We will all meet at the end of the journey, some sooner some later, doesn’t matter it is our fate. You might or not find direct answers in the Torah, as it is how you interpret its writings. Why not get your mind somewhere else rather than waiting for the inevitable. Reply

One opinion not truth for all Some people end up in situations they did not choose to be in .Illness , death, family problems happen to everyone,none is immune.
The true test of our grasp of Torah values is how we choose to address these challenges.
We can blame others ,become cruel insensitive beasts, or we can be an agent of change and compassion to help others through the same broken glass we survived we can show other that Torah is a survival guide. . Reply

Feigele, I suppose, then, It depends where we live. The point is, I think, we need to live AS IF the world is going to end and to do good in the time we have on this world. I know my world will end for me sooner than it will end for my children. At least, I have to think that. What I would like to know is if there is a prophesy in our Torah which answers this question. The Germans were building rockets and other weapons to destroy London during WWII, the British spies took photos but it took them a long time to realize what they were. Although they managed to destroy most of them, it was already too late for some of those rockets that destroy part of London—as seen on Discovery/history channels

2012 I can affirm that the world will not end in 2012. How do I know this? I know this yes, becuase one, the Torah says that the earth was established by Hashem and not to be moved and that its foundation was and is and will always be set be Hashem. Also as a person with a degree in physics I can tell you that the world and the universe is established base on cycles. One cycle ends and another begins. And so it begins. Reply

Interesting thoughts. First, which world? The physical one or our spiritual ones within ourselves? Second, what is the definition of "end"? It could be a bit explosion of the earth, or it could be a natural disaster. Third, every day the world ends for someone, (when they die). Physically, even if we have a nuclear explosion, the whole world will not end. It will only become human-extinct. The world (earth) will end when our sun gives out and becomes a black hole or if a meteor hits the earth so hard it pushes it out of the sun's orbit. Reply

2012 Ii don't believe the world will end in 2012,although it isn't actually what the Mayans bellieved either;since this claim comes from the fact that their calendar ends in 2012.Then they would start all over again,with the same calender,but they had no time to record another cycle,since their civilisation ended with Cortez 's arrival.They simply believed that 2012 was the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one ,when there would be a much greater awareness of God .Just open the Bible,look at all the unfullfilled promises God made to Israel.He promised among other things that they would fully possess their land,that the 3rd temple would be rebuilt and much more.Then you just know the world cannot end at least before He fulfils His promises ,since He would hate being called a liar.We don't need to turn to the Mayans to know what will happen in 2012.We have God's Word,and i believe the entire Bible is a Prophecy.There are many hidden prophecies in His Word.
