De-Victimizing

Not all of us are like Joseph who went from being sold as a slave to becoming viceroy of Epypt, or are we? Turning a bad situation into a good one is really, really difficult… unless there is help from Above. The problem is first that none of us likes to endure or suffer and second that we are impatient, we have been waiting for thousands of years! And for us, simple humans, the trauma of being beaten, humiliated or worse is like a constant scream inside our heads. May Hashem show us mercy and lift this so long curse on us for we are His people and He is our G-d. It is very hard not to seek revenge but to turn to Him with complete trust. I am trying. Reply

In these days we are victims only inasmuch as we don't recognize our own power. We prayed:
'ה' עוז לעמו ייתן
He gave us strength in abundance.
400,000 troops, state of the art weaponry, seasoned leadership.
We must carry on fearlessly regardless of all provocations.
אל מלך נאמן. Reply

Not a victim, but rather a vessel filled by G-d and His love. I am nothing without G-d. My own power is weak. Through G-d and HIS power He strengthens me and lifts me up. It's foolish to think i can have hidden powers when in reality it is G-d working through me. He is my strength and my hope. Reply

Overcoming Nature G_d imprinted a force within us - a force which breaks us into pieces to separate us from one another.

This victimizing force is really the catalyst to make us whole again and enable us to understand the perfect system:

Every time we reveal the hatred of separation between us we ask for His Light to correct our faulty connections.
Our effort is to ask for correction before the manifestation of a crisis or suffer the crisis to push us to correction. Reply

Who Is Truly A Victim In this day and age, we see so many people claiming to be victims, it's almost viral in nature. To be truly a victim of something, means that it was truly beyond ones control. Most of what I see of those who claim victimization, are truly those who fail to recognize their true power, as the Rabbi stated above. There are too many times where people fail to rise up, or rather, get a true sense of their own strength to rise above the situation.

When we recognize our own strengths, we are then able to teach others who are in need of recognizing their own strengths and weaknesses. Reply

I can stop the intellectualiizing that I do, please G-d There are times when you compare the burden on your shoulders to the strengths you know you have, and it seems impossible This is written, thanks, rabbi, and its where I'm coming from now. I must stop the intellectualizing. I wrote in January 2010 and it helps re-reading my earlier comment then, the comment below written then. So much understanding and empathy in your Daily Dose that it makes me cry, and there's joy in remorse or whatever emotion I feel and that's the empathy and knowledge in your Daily Dose that's felt. He is in the power Therefore, I can rise above any challenge, obstacle, or situation, and prevail. For He is my strength.
Thank you, rabbi. You have added a new layer to my understanding of Mode Ani. "Great is Your faith", for You are there in the midst of my powers. And if only I can internalize that truth, and make it my blood and flesh, there is no limit to what I can achieve. Baruch Hashem! Reply

Trials and Tribulation G*d is our creator. He loves us. I have heard it said that God does not allow us to be put through any trial or tribulation that we can't handle. It is our faith in G*d that sees us through those times. Reply

He meets us.. From others I had gotten a concept which is a way I viewed G-d. I now perceive Him differently and know He only makes demands "not according to His unlimited power, but finely measured to the capacity He has hidden within us." With regards to my capacity to take pressure - its a better mindset now and I can take it because I am learning mercy and my hidden strengths. Not bad when I used to take on pressure myself more than anyone should. Reply

Challenges The bar is always raised on the next challenge presented it seems, all for our spiritual growth. I have learned the most from my biggest challenges. Whether from pain, love, hurt, or misperseptions. But, I sure love it when there is peace and joy and happiness in abundance in between the challenges:) Reply

Tools in the hand of their Master When this really clicked, it was a moment of relief, of peace. At the same time, it makes me wonder about a situation in work. I won't go into all the details, but I wonder to what extent I should accept a new person being brought in and given training that I and another woman have requested but have been brushed off. How far do I protest? I am not a great fighter for myself. Do I accept the situation, say I did speak up, and leave it at that? That's the part of this that I am struggling with. Reply

The Designer of this cosmos does not contrive sche but he declared that we would face hard times when we go out from His ways - and I can ensure it is real about idolatry. Reply
